Celebrating Diversity

I attended an Award Ceremony on Thursday evening (really wish I had photographed my outfit!) with my friend and colleague J. 

We were attending on behalf of work following a project that 

J and I have recently worked on.

It was a fabulous night celebrating the amazing achievements of 

national companies, small business's, groups and individuals all demonstrating real 

and ongoing commitment to inclusion and equality and working to improve 

the lives of lesbian, gay,bisexual and transsexual people. 

Of course the legislation of Same-Sex Marriage made 2013 an historic year so there was more to celebrate! :-)

Held at the Radisson Hotel Manchester  (sumptuous, amazing art and sculpture - 

I was dying to whip my camera out and could have snapped all night but didn't

 feel it was appropriate - will.have.to.go.back.SIMPLES.) & organised by the

 The Lesbian & Gay Foundation (LGF).

Weekend Wanders

Ggggrrrrr...late with this post on account of sporadic internet.

I had a lovely walk with Mr.L and Olly on Sunday to a local landmark - 

Darwen Tower.

The tower stands atop the hills on the West Pennine Moors overlooking the small town of Darwen.

When I have been away and catch that first glimpse of it proudly standing there 
I sigh and think "I'm home!"

It can be seen for miles around and when you make the effort to go to the top you are rewarded with the most amazing views for miles around.

Here she is!! Lovely new top on her after her old one blew off in one piece a few years ago!

A Touch of Tuscany

Earlier this year my parents moved house. 

They bought a bungalow, which despite needing work to update 

has a lovely, homely feel to it. 

Funny how some houses just feel like that...

For the first time ever they also have a FLAT garden. 

They have spent these last days of Summer creating a place to

 sit outside the newly built conservatory (another first).

The colours are bright and immediately conjure up memories of hot countries. 

I absolutely LOVE the bright yellow pallet table and would like one myself 

(HINT)!! ;-)

You can't see but the table has castors on it for ease.
