Shoes, Shoes, Shoes...

Ok, sssshhhhh, I have a secret! I have been known to spend a LOT of money on shoes (well by my standards anyway). Like a lot of women I probably buy the shoes first then style the outfit around them.

Anyway, on a slap dash trip to Asda at lunch time last week I laid my hands on these for a bargainous £8.00 - the beauty of them is you don't have to style an outfit around them - they'll go with pretty much anything. Comfy too!

Absolutely love me a bit of leopard print - adds interest so easily to a pair of jeans and
simple t-shirt.

I wear the anklet you can see all the time. The floral design on my feet are actually tattoo's which I had done after I had a Henna pattern and loved it. People think it is Henna when they see it!

Bye for now,

Cycling Gisburn Forest

I didn't realise how much I missed cycling until I started again the last year or so. Mr. L and I try to cycle together every weekend.

Best bike I've ever had - Cube Cyclo-Cross Bike.

Now I do a bit of road and trail riding. Years ago I used to love mountain biking - the tougher the better ;-) BUT now I'm a real scaredy pants - when does that sneak up on you?

Last weekend we met friends at Gisburn Forest - purpose built cycle trails in the beautiful Trough of Bowland.

Cycling Gisburn Forest

We always have a cafe stop on our bike rides - tea and cake obligatory - one of the few times I am guilt free! Wahey!

Essential bike storage outside Forest Den Cafe.

These beautiful beams were crying out to be photographed. They are in the Cafe - I just love how they are not engineered.

Me wearing my favourite Sweaty Betty cycling pants (bought in the sale I hasten to add) - perfectly padded bottom and a little skirt attached to hide fatty bits at the top of my legs. LOVE!
My cycle pants

Little known fact...
The Queen actually says she would like to live in the Forest of Bowland if she had a choice!

Tania Holland Gallery

Whilst in Bridgnorth last week I found a delightful art and craft gallery owned by the lovely Tania Holland, Caricaturist & Artist.

The gallery is really small and quaint, with beams & little nooks and crannies, roughly plastered walls and a candy striped staircase leading you upstairs to yet more delightful objects d'art.

As well as show casing her own work Tania also has unusual and affordable handmade products by other artists - cards and gifts, jewellery, pictures, pottery and sculptures.

On the top shelf, above to the right you can see a painting of an owl, which I absolutely LOVED. Never one to buy on the spur of the moment I have since had to call Tania to say - "Can I buy it please?" It's currently winging it's way to me...Blog spot coming soon, twhoooo!

Also loved this, but you can't have everything right?

Tania was working away whilst I was visiting, I particularly liked her word play sculptures, available in different sizes. It was fun trying to work out what the sculpture with cut-out wordplay represented, then 'ping' you'd suddenly get it! The dog further up being 'pointer' - aaahhhh get it?
I have a stag/reindeer fetish (love them, so majestic), whilst there I found a stag necklace, available in four different colours (big problem for moi!!) I settled on bright pink - an age appropriate nod to the current neon trend I thought!

Deerheart!
Above pictured with the chain it came with and below with my slinky chain, obviously longer, which I wear with lots of different pendants dependant on my mood :-)

Pop over to Tania Holland Artist & Caricature Me to see more of Tania's work and more.

Back Tomorrow,
