Weekend Wanders

Hello! Blogging Mojo Back!

Took myself off this weekend for a walk around my nearest National Trust property
 Gawthorpe Hall.

The gardens are beautifully set out around the Elizabethan house, known as the
Downton Abbey of the North.
The building has some beautiful architectural details that have survived the years.
The gardens at the back overlooking the wonderful countryside.
Beautifully kept, love the purple!

I really enjoyed myself, particularly taking photographs.
I keep thinking about getting another National Trust membership, there are so many wonderful places to visit - I really want to visit here!

Thank you for dropping by!

A Parisian Itch

I have an itch, a Parisian itch, which shows no sign of abating.
Although it is a City I know well, I would like to linger longer in Montmartre.
As is so often in City's, we dash through the recommended 'must sees'.

Montmartre, with it's musicians and artists in the square, the morning hustle
and bustle and the smell of croissants and fresh coffee, the magnificent architecture and overlooking it all the beautiful Sacre Couer.

As night falls the energy grows and the lights just make it so magical.

So many colourful characters too, mesmerising, just grab a coffee and people
watch to your hearts content!

Looking on airbnb I found some really small sweet pied a terres, from as little as £27.00
per night right in the heart of Montmartre.

Montmartre, I will be back!
What areas of Paris are your favourites - would love to hear!

Strolling

I enjoy perusing shop's as much as the next woman, but whenever I am in a City try to make sure I look up, notice my surroundings, the architecture making up the skyline, the landscape & the juxtaposition of building style and era's jostling next to each other.....
& of course take photograph's. So here are just a few of my recent visit to Leicester!

& these two! :-)

Some beautiful areas if we open our eyes....& look up!
