Naughty Eats This Weekend.....

Ok, so this weekend my healthy eating went completely to pot. Chocolate, yup! Chocolate digestives, yup! Chinese, yup! Pancakes, double yup! Sat here writing with a double Amaretto on the rocks? Hell yeah!

So, what am I thinking. I've cocked up all my hard work? Might as well just carry on eating all the things I haven't had in an absolute age? In giant size?
300 gram Cadbury's I ate last night with Mr.L!!!

At Christmas I ate so many things I hadn't had since doing my juice detox and to be honest hadn't missed either. The result.......spots & heartburn and actually felt like I was poisoning my body. Really.

This doesn't mean that I deny myself, but try to eat things that may be 'naughty' in moderation. I savour my food, eat more slowly, think whilst I am eating. Try not to eat whilst perusing the internet or doing work. You know, you suddenly think, wow, my lunch is gone and I didn't taste it!! 7 I'm absolutely stuffed - stopping eating when you are full is one of the best things for weight loss. As is eating when hungry - not because it is 12 o'clock ;-)

So, am I going to get depressed about what I've consumed this weekend. No! Of course not! Tomorrow is another day and I will start it the way I usually do. By finishing my pint of water on my bedside, sipping on lemon and ginger in hot water and making my green juice. After all, it's what you do most of the time that makes the difference!

Back soon to share some of the changes I've made to my diet and how I've upped my fitness.

Hope you've had a fab weekend!

Confession Time

procrastinate

liste

Verb - Delay, put off doing

People wouldn't think I was a procrastinator – a lot of it goes on in my head – I may share an intention with Mr.L  or one or two people but I won't shout it….why?
Because then I can get out of doing it and no-one knows!!

Take Parkrun – Saturday mornings 9 o'clock – lots of my running group post their intention on line – all the people who I have taken from walking to jogging to running -  I may say quietly that I'm going to go too......next morning the pull of a warm bed, a lie in, a cup of tea in said bed........what do I choose? You've got it! ;-)

Yet I know if I go, I feel so refreshed, have done some exercise and am home before 10am, have seen friends and have energised myself ready for the weekend.

So later when I read about everyone getting themselves up and out I feel mad with myself….

I procrastinate about other things too, main things currently being – I cleaned half the kitchen and sorted out the kitchen cupboards – I enjoyed it, clean tidy cupboards with no unused items or out of date food, wow! The other half...
I painted the two downstairs windows on the front of my house (upstairs was done my a decorator) the front door??? Procrastination rules – the weather is too hot/too cold, it might rain, its too windy, get the picture?
My black leather boots – by the back door for 6 months – waiting – for a polish…………..gggrrrr.

Why do I do this? I have no idea, but my guess is others must do it too?
What do you think? Do you procrastinate? How do you overcome it?

I'm off to clean a pair of boots – yeah right!!!
But - I am going to Parkrun ;-0

Happy Weekend Everyone!

30 Day Challenge

Feels so long since I posted so I'm happy you are here!

I've had a mad week, both at home and work, chasing my tail whilst
struggling with  niggling back pain and lack of sleep.

I'm grateful that my back isn't a quarter as bad as it has been in the past
but now know I need to do something preventative -
I'm thinking 1:1 Pilates sessions initially then moving to group sessions.

I know my problem is my core - despite being generally fit my core muscles
are far from the strongest and I know they won't improve by themselves -
time to put some work in I think!!

I was unable to lead my running group last week and that just guts me....

I have always been fortunate to enjoy free Yoga sessions at work on a Friday lunchtime but never quite managed to carve time out in my diary - now they have finished :-(
(due to lack of attendance gggrrr)

So, I have decided to join Gwen Moss with Matt Cutts 30 Day Challenge.
I am going to wake slightly earlier and do a 10 minute morning
yoga session for the whole of May.

According to Leo Babauta who writes the fabulous Zen Habits a
habit is formed after 21 sessions have been incorporated into your life -
so hopefully this ritual will last far longer than May!!

Obviously starting a new activity means a trip to Sweaty Betty.
Research shows that if you feel good in your chosen sport clothing you
actually work harder, well that's my excuse anyway, hehe!

Does anyone practice Pilates?
I'd love if you could share some tips or advice! XX
