Same But Different

I recently had a wedding to attend. I decided I didn't want to buy anything new and instead wear something already in my wardrobe but  make it look different. No guests from the previous wedding were going to be there so it was safe to do! :-)

I wore my Mint Velvet jumpsuit which I had to put tucks into around the bodice as it was now too big for me - luckily the way it is designed meant I could get away with this.....

I last wore it to a Western Wedding  with cowboy boots, leather bolero & a cowboy hat!
This time round I added a cream jacket, blush coloured gladiator heels and a gorgeous white clutch bag in pebbled leather.

So, there it is - my refashioned wedding outfit!
I'm trying to be frugal with purchases, particularly for occasion wear which may only have one or two trips out. This jumpsuit has had lots of outings, not just for Weddings! :-)

Thanks for dropping by!

Just Add Hat......

Bbbbrrrrr. Well December has definitely brought  cold weather to the West Pennines.
No matter what the weather Mr.L and I always have to walk Olly, no excuses. We need good cold weather wear to keep cosy warm whilst battling the elements.

On a recent trip to Leicester we came across down filled jackets in the sale at Blacks. I've always been interested to try out down filled jackets, having heard how warm they are without the bulk. I have to say they really impressed me! Really cosy with 80% down and 20% feather and fits into a tiny bag about the size of my hand!! In fact we were so impressed Mr.L & I got matching ones ;-) They are last year's Lowe Alpine.
Whilst we were buying new jackets we decided we needed new wellies too. I've always bought traditional Hunter wellies, having had a pair that lasted ten years and I had to throw as the heel was so worn down!! Such a shame the quality has dropped over recent years and my last two pairs split within a year - I needed something sturdier. We found  Muckboots perusing the web and decided to give them a try.
They are so warm & sturdy - it's like walking in slippers (very supportive slippers!!!) I love the styling and the colourways - brighten you up on a cold winters day :-)
Olly getting in on the action!
So, all I need now is a hat. Here's my favourite....

But any of these would cut it...

Are you ready for whatever Winter throws at us?
Which hat would you choose?

Around Here Lately.....

Ok, so I seem to be doing a few of these posts.

Life is crazy, does it ever slow down? I wonder do I do it to myself? Should I just stop?
What would happen if I did? Would everything fall apart in slow motion?

I have felt so tired this last week. I had a lovely weekend in Bristol with a friend - Cleveden - it was beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but have been playing catch-up ever since - mainly sleep!!!!

This weekend I have pottered and done little things I have wanted to do for a while.
I went to have some photo's printed, buy frames and a plant pot and some gifts for a
couple of friends who have recently had baby girl's!

I have numerous jobs to do, said as I look out at my overgrown jungle, but have made a nice cuppa and sat myself here awhile, having caught up with my favourite blogs too ;-)

Three pictures from the Western Wedding now framed!
(Frame was a pound from Oxfam!)

Tour de Yorkshire now framed :-) Mr.L happy...

Two gifts for friends made & ticked off the list!
Heart maps, one Slovakia, one France. Done & done!

 Baby girl presents wrapped!

A gift of heather from a friend now in it's pot!
I love these buckets, cheap and look better with age!

Ok, so I treated myself...but I've liked this for ages. Never bought from JCrew before
but it seems I'm a large - luckily I reordered and large is on the way!!

Had a night out to celebrate two girls from Running Club completing the

So tell me, what are you up to?
Promise to be back soon!

Naughty Sales Treat One

Sale time!! I don't really buy many clothes.
Whenever I do buy it will be a purchase I have thought hard about.
How I will wear it, when I will wear it.

Usually it is something I have seen at full price and loved,
as is the case with the Mint Velvet gilet's below. I will then keep checking back to see if they have been reduced - patience is a virtue! 25% off - yesss!

I wasn't sure about size, style or colour so with free returns I ordered three to try at my leisure :-) With faux sheepskin and leather trim, they are exceptional quality. I wear gilet's lots as I don't like to feel restricted on my arms whilst wanting a nice warm core!

This is the grey colourway, so cosy, the neck pulls right up and buckles - *love!*
Nice deep pockets, double breasted & little design details that make the difference.
Cream colour, not as keen, tiny pockets.
& this! Didn't look much in the box, but lovely on,
the leather buckle detail is gorgeous, but with my sensible head
I decided to return as I have a fur gilet - just not as nice, gggrrr!
So, as you can guess I chose the grey - I'm a grey kinda gal! Ha!

Who else has treated themselves in the sales?
