Around Here Lately

My brain is mashed/mush/fried! & I am  not sleeping - again, well unless I pop a tablet. That makes it hard for me to clarify thoughts and write here. So, a little catch up. Hello! Nice to see you here!

I was due to start my much mentioned Diploma in Massage two weeks ago. This the first trepidous step towards what I hoped would bring a career change. Sadly on the day it was due to start I had a call to say it had been cancelled due to not enough people wanting to do it. I find myself thinking "Is this my path?" This is the third time of booking and for one reason or another not starting.....I'm a big believer in the old adage 'things happen for a reason'. Right now those stars are not aligning.....Currently researching private providers - I prefer to be in the classroom, not distance learning.

I have been back at work on a phased return following my hysterectomy for three weeks now. I won't pretend it's been easy. The old overwhelming feelings and insomnia biting! I've been exhausted. The pooch has got used to me returning home and having a brew before I walk him - how dare I!!

We (as in work) had the good news that the NHS Trust we work for won the tender for our service to continue, followed by swiftly being told there isn't enough money in the pot to pay all of my team - so we go into consultation on the first of April, more stress, trying to secure our jobs, going up against colleagues. Not nice.

& so, I am sure you begin to see why the opening sentence - if you have carried on reading!!

This weekend has been about replenishing myself, ready for work, trying to sort out my head, get some clarity. This helps. Being right here. Mr.L has been looking after me, cooking nutritious meals, I have read, run, sorted out my wardrobe as discussed here and I will share later.

In the meantime I keep looking at this quote, written for me maybe?

Bye for now you lovely people!

Perspective

"a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view"

My cycling holiday was a challenge, something I've wanted to do for a few years.
Now I've done it.

Riding was interesting. I would see a mahoosive hill in the distance and think nooooooooo, I'm never going to get up that, no chance!!

As I drew closer and started the ascent it just wasn't as hard,  as steep, as difficult as it had looked.
The perspective looked far harder further back.

The more hill's I did, the easier they became. Some of the hills I couldn't have tackled a few years ago, but I found the strength I needed to power on.

It got me thinking about life. That sometimes things look too difficult to even bother trying.

But, we take a step, then another and something that felt too hard to achieve,  too difficult, just a pipe dream starts to become reality.

Those steep hills became humps in the road.

What would life be without those steep bits? They're there to make us stronger.

I've done something I thought I never would. Now I wonder..........
Could my pipe dreams become reality? Can what seems too steep become a hump?

Have you ever set yourself a challenge?
What did you do?

Readjustment

I'm trying!

Readjustment - adjust, alter, adapt, re-acclimate, reconcile, regulate.

All  those things and more...I prefer "Roll with it".

It takes time - the tidiness I can get used to - but the quiet.....
It's four weeks now since 'A' left for her new home & life, I see her lots,
despite this I miss her lots too. & my boy.

Life is rolling on, Mr.L & I are embracing the changes and looking forward to all that life has to offer. We are trying new things, adopting new routine's, enjoying each other's company and talking about our dream's. We want to travel, see more of the World.

We are ready for our next chapter. I hope it involves a cosy cottage too - & soon.

It's not that I don't love this old house of mine, I do, I've preserved it, worked with its quirks, hopefully it will stand for another 350 years, but it's ready for a new family to grow and fill it with noise (not that we don't when we're all together).

But it's a family house, too big for just 2 and a puppy! :-) My Son says "Why don't you just let me have it??" If only!

Family - it's definitely where the heart is.
