Autumn in Paris Part 1

I had the most wonderful time in Paris and at my friends in Montargis with 'J'.
It was lovely to see her face as she took in all that Paris has to offer.

We arrived about 10.00pm, dumped our bags and were
straight out, to eat, drink and walk!

This is the sight that met us as we ascended the Metro - beautiful.
On the hour blue lights twinkle all over :-) Magical

Have always wanted to ride one of the many carousels throughout Paris...still waiting
We found a lovely cosy restaurant near to Trocadero - the ceiling was *amazing*
Next morning we were up extra early to go up the Eiffel Tower -
the lift to the second floor was broken :-0 So, we walked!!
Some of the sights from the top! After our LONG walk!

Fffffffrrreeezing, we enjoyed Vin Chaud, Mmmmmmm
Velo's - all over the City, such a great way to travel....

Lovely garden's around the Eiffel Tower
We then walked down to Trocadero with it's magnificent waterfountains......
.....before catching the Bato-Bus which due to the high levels of rain was only stopping at 4
of the usual stops as the boat would not fit under the bridges further up the Seine!!
Some views along the way to the Gardens of Versaille & Le Louvre
Lovely walk in the gardens en-route to the Place de la Concorde
A place to sit and rest - you need to in this City...

More to follow - went a little wild with the camera!
Thanks for dropping by :-)

52 Weeks of Happy (7 & 8/52)

Joining two weeks together this week due to escaping last week with a friend!

Jen writer of  Little Birdie blog started this hop over a year ago,
but I loved the idea & decide to do the same!

So here we go - eight happy moments (some may not have been moments!)

  • Picked this little soft toy up in Ikea - they are doing a selection of them for charity - & well, it has antlers, hehe (stag fetish overdrive!!)
  • Kept wondering why stag (moose) kept falling off the bookcase - discovered why - Olly! He is now very grubby ;-0
  • This lovely crochet angel - found in France I just love the simplicity, the craftsmanship, that it's unusual & a bargain  at 4 Euro!
  • My Daughter may be 19 (next week) but I have still done an advent calendar for her. This year it's Kinder chocolate (from France) in the Advent calendar we have had for years and was made by my clever Mama!
  • Deciding what to do with these absolutely beautiful French Christmas postcards - posted to loved ones in the 1940's & 50's.
  • Posting a gift to my French friends - it arrived the day I left for France! It is a Vistaprint calendar 2014 containing memories of our holiday together to Scotland in September. Really lovely gift, simple to add your photo's in and good quality too!  Forgot to take a photo - gggggrrrrrr
  • Adding drops of this gorgeous oil (baby talc smell!) to a damp flannel on the radiator in the hall when I don't light a candle. You have to smile when you smell baby smell!!
  • The beginnings of the Festive Season....
  • This sight that met me as I ascended the Metro in Paris with a good friend :-)

Hope you have had smiley moments this week!

Neom Candles

I mentioned here that I had won an absolutely gorgeous Neom Candle.

I am a lover of Melt Candles normally, but having had this candle for a couple of weeks
I'm beginning to understand the virtues of Neom candles which the
lovely ladies in the shop where I won it shared with me  ;-)

  • Burn until the wax touches the sides then blow out - because the candle is made with pure organic essential oils the scent will remain long after you blow the candle out.
  • Each large candle burns cleanly for up to 55 hours due to it being made from pure essential oils and vegetable wax.
  • When you breath in the scent it is like an aromatherapy treatment - Neom are used in lots of beauty establishments.
  • Dip your fingers into the vegetable wax as it melts and massage into your hands - they will be beautifully soft and smell gorgeous!
  • Run a bath, blow out the candle and pour the wax that's melted into the bath - aromatherapy bath - sumptuous!

The candle I won is the Christmas Wish: Home Candle.
"All the darkness in the World cannot put out the light of one small candle".

Who knew?
